The new fragrance that was developed as part of the Penning Perfumes project<\/a> and unveiled at the Birmingham event<\/a> last night can now be revealed.<\/p>\n

\nFirst I want to share with you the poem that was the inspiration for the fragrance, reproduced here with kind permission of the poet<\/a>.<\/div>\n

\nBeats rain down and hide in the gutter,<\/o:p><\/span><\/div>\n
\nrivulets form around the clutter<\/o:p><\/span><\/div>\n
\nof the pavement\u2019s percussion orchestra.<\/o:p><\/span><\/div>\n
\n<\/div>\n
\nHush.<\/o:p><\/span><\/div>\n
\n<\/div>\n
\nSticky leather sky.<\/o:p><\/span><\/div>\n
\n<\/div>\n
\nThe air vibrates still<\/o:p><\/span><\/div>\n
\nthrough drum-buildings.<\/o:p><\/span><\/div>\n

\nI think of us listening to Charles Ives.<\/o:p><\/span><\/div>\n
\nYou heard cacophony, I heard the silence<\/o:p><\/span><\/div>\n
\nafter the tempest, when the bells<\/o:p><\/span><\/div>\n
\n<\/div>\n
\nhad ceased, but their ripples<\/o:p><\/span><\/div>\n
\nreached to our seats like<\/o:p><\/span><\/div>\n
\nthe promise of a tomorrow.<\/o:p><\/span><\/div>\n

Listening to Charles Ives appears in the collection Low Tide Lottery by Claire Tr\u00e9vien.<\/span><\/span>

\nThe fragrance takes its name from that striking central line – Sticky Leather Sky – it conjures such a clear image.  The fragrance was well <\/span>received by the audience at the event so I’m planning on bringing it into the range as the first leathery fragrance from Pell Wall.  It will be available soon at Big Reds House<\/a>, the art gallery in Whitchurch, <\/span>Shropshire that showcases most of my range as well as some one-off creations alongside lots of other fascinating art work.  There will also be some for sale at the Craft Cafe<\/a> in Newport Shropshire alongside all the standard Pell Wall range.<\/span><\/span>

Sticky Leather Sky opens with light, bright, familiar
\nnotes of bergamot that shade into fresh clean air heavy with damp.<\/span><\/span>
\n
<\/span><\/span>
\nThere is a
\nslightly metallic edge and a light woody background representing the orchestra
\nwhile jasmine and orris recall the opulence of the Paris Opera.<\/span><\/span>
\n
<\/span><\/span>
\nThe strong
\nleather accord comes into play quickly and lasts and lasts providing a dominant,
\npersistent theme.<\/span><\/span>
\n
<\/span><\/span>
\nThe top notes and the leather base are a little uncomfortable
\nwith each other, just like the couple at the concert, who are discovering how
\ndifferent they are.<\/span><\/span>
\n
