what is known in the trade as the headspace &#8211; and then working out what is in it, but there are a variety of means of doing that and they don\u2019t all yield the same results. &nbsp;These results all came from blue hyacinth by the way.<\/span><\/p>\n<p>\n<span style=\"color: #333333; margin-right: 0px; margin-top: 0px;\">\n<span style=\"font-family: Verdana, sans-serif;\">I researched this when I was setting out to make my own hyacinth based fragrance &#8211; <i>Persian Prince<\/i> for my <a href=\"http:\/\/www.pellwall-perfumes.com\/spring\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Spring Flowers Collection<\/a>. &nbsp;You might reasonably wonder why I would go to so much trouble &#8211; surely you can just get hold of the essence of the natural flower and use that? &nbsp;Well with some flowers that\u2019s certainly possible, though often the resulting essence does not smell much like putting your nose to the flower. &nbsp;In this case though a<span style=\"color: #333333;\">ccording to<\/span><span style=\"color: #333333;\">&nbsp;<\/span><span style=\"color: #333333;\"><a href=\"http:\/\/www.whitelotusaromatics.com\/newsletters\/absolute_monographs_2\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" style=\"color: #417394; text-decoration: none;\" target=\"_blank\" class=\"broken_link\">White Lotus<\/a><\/span><span style=\"color: #333333;\">&nbsp;<\/span><span style=\"color: #333333;\">there is no real Hyacinth being offered anywhere today and I\u2019m inclined to agree with them.<\/span><\/span><\/div>\n<div style=\"margin-bottom: 0px; margin-left: 0px; margin-right: 0px; margin-top: 0px;\">\n<span style=\"font-family: Verdana, sans-serif;\"><span style=\"color: #333333;\"><br \/><\/span><\/span><\/div>\n<div style=\"margin-bottom: 0px; margin-left: 0px; margin-right: 0px; margin-top: 0px;\">\n<span style=\"font-family: Verdana, sans-serif;\"><span style=\"color: #333333;\">So instead it\u2019s just a question of mixing all the elements on the list and hey-presto you have a hyacinth perfume?<\/span><\/span><\/div>\n<div style=\"margin-bottom: 0px; margin-left: 0px; margin-right: 0px; margin-top: 0px;\">\n<span style=\"font-family: Verdana, sans-serif;\"><span style=\"color: #333333;\"><br \/><\/span><\/span><\/div>\n<div style=\"margin-bottom: 0px; margin-left: 0px; margin-right: 0px; margin-top: 0px;\">\n<span style=\"font-family: Verdana, sans-serif;\"><span style=\"color: #333333;\">Well not quite &#8211; for one thing the flower does not have to obey the safety rules set out by IFRA and <a href=\"http:\/\/pellwall-perfumes.blogspot.co.uk\/2012\/04\/ifra-standards-international-fragrance.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">summarised in this post<\/a>. &nbsp;If you copy the flower scent exactly you end up with a perfume that might cause skin irritation when you spray it on yourself. &nbsp;Plus some of the chemicals are difficult to get hold of or not fully stable and of course, unlike the flower, your perfume isn\u2019t going to be continually made on your skin and released into the air in a constant stream. &nbsp;<\/span><\/span><\/div>\n<div style=\"margin-bottom: 0px; margin-left: 0px; margin-right: 0px; margin-top: 0px;\">\n<span style=\"font-family: Verdana, sans-serif;\"><span style=\"color: #333333;\"><br \/><\/span><\/span><\/div>\n<div style=\"margin-bottom: 0px; margin-left: 0px; margin-right: 0px; margin-top: 0px;\">\n<span style=\"font-family: Verdana, sans-serif;\"><span style=\"color: #333333;\">So some adjustments are needed to make it last on the skin, project out from it and still smell like the flower it is supposed to. &nbsp;Having the list certainly makes re-creating the scent a great deal easier though.<\/span><\/span><\/div>\n<div style=\"margin-bottom: 0px; margin-left: 0px; margin-right: 0px; margin-top: 0px;\">\n<span style=\"font-family: Verdana, sans-serif;\"><span style=\"color: #333333;\"><br \/><\/span><\/span><\/div>\n<div style=\"margin-bottom: 0px;
